Storage Connection, now StoreFront.com, is a Website that lists storage facilities by location, price and purpose to the customer. This website helps customers to find storage facilities for their needs and assists small storage businesses in having an online visibility. The goal for the storage connection website is to make finding and renting a storage unit an easy and stress free process. The client wanted to include accessories that would assist their customers the most.
Store Local partnered with The Design Innovation Project to give their mobile website a facelift. The Design Innovation Project was a mobile design “Think Tank” that consisted of graphic design students from CSUF and Cal Poly Pomona. The team was divided into groups such as Branding and UI/UX Elements to give a variety of design proposals. The concept for the design originated from thinking of the customer that needs a storage unit. Most people who are looking for a storage unit are in a crisis situation. A big event has happened and the need for storage occurs unexpectedly.The team developed the following tools for the website: a rating system for the units, a map to locate the storage centers, an easy pricing and sizing guide, a built in billing system, and a convenient place within the website for the user to locate information about their storage unit. All of these tools upgraded the look of Storage Connection and it is now a successful access point for local businesses and retail customers alike.
